Since its founding in 1985, the firm has delivered over 200 performance venue projects around the world. Scéno Plus is currently seeking a passionate Specialized Equipment Systems Designer to join its multidisciplinary team.

SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT SYSTEMS DESIGNER
Your Role
Reporting to the Vice President – Technology and Specialized Equipment and working under the supervision of experienced designers, the Specialized Equipment Systems Designer contributes to the design and documentation of audio, video, communications, intercom and control systems intended primarily for performance venues and entertainment facilities. The individual participates in the preparation of drawings, single-line diagrams, equipment lists, cost estimates and specifications, as well as in the coordination of the required infrastructure with other disciplines. Through the guidance of the team and involvement in the various phases of projects, the individual progressively develops greater technical autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute, under the supervision of experienced designers, to the development of audio, video, communications, intercom, assistive listening and control systems intended primarily for performance venues and entertainment facilities
Participate in understanding and documenting the functional and technical requirements of projects
Produce and update drawings, single-line diagrams, functional diagrams, installation details, connection schedules and other technical documents required throughout the various design phases
Assist in defining the cabling and infrastructure requirements for specialized equipment systems, including conduits, electrical power, technical spaces, mounting systems and telecommunications
Participate in coordinating specialized equipment systems with the architectural, interior design, structural, electrical, acoustical and architectural lighting disciplines
Research products and technology solutions, analyze their specifications, performance and compatibility, and contribute to equipment selection
Participate in preparing equipment lists, cost estimates and tender documents, including technical specifications, pricing schedules, drawings and diagrams
Participate, as required by the projects, in technical surveys, coordination meetings, site visits, inspections, testing and commissioning activities
Progressively contribute to the calculations, simulations and technical validations required for the design and performance verification of specialized equipment systems
Develop your skills through team mentoring, technical training and active participation in improving Scéno Plus’s tools, work methods and design standards
Candidate Profile we’re looking for
College diploma (DEC) in electronics, audiovisual technology, computer systems technology, electrical engineering technology, stage production or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
Relevant experience in the design, integration, installation or operation of specialized equipment systems
Ability to understand and represent technical systems
Strong attention to detail and a rigorous approach to technical documentation
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Ability to communicate technical information clearly
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written
Knowledge of the technical environment of performance venues, stage productions or specialized equipment integration is considered an asset
Technical Skills
Excellent proficiency in Revit
Basic knowledge of computer networks and their application to specialized equipment systems, including IP addressing, network switching and the transmission of audio and video signals over IP networks
Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to produce technical drawings and diagrams with guidance
Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu and Revit is considered an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Excel
